James A. Baughman, 88, of Lansing, KS, formerly of Higginsville and Wellington, MO, died November 14, 2019 at his home.
He was born December 23, 1930 in Evanston, IL to George and Florence (Perrigo) Baughman.
He married Pauline Graff on October 20, 1950 in Chicago, IL.
James served in the National Guard at Camp Stewart near Savannah, GA and then at Fort Custer in Battle Creek, MI. After the service, James moved to Columbus, OH, Arnold Park, IA and then to Atchison, KS where he worked as a baker at Benedictine College. He also owned and operated a gas station for a time. They moved to Kansas City, KS and he went to work for Fehr Hotel Supply, then Midland Foods and then Bayer, where he settled for over 24 years. After his retirement they moved to Wellington, MO. They lived there for 15 years before moving to Higginsville, MO. Their last move was to Lansing, KS where they have lived for the past 5 years. He was active in the churches where they lived over the years, serving as a Eucharistic minister and rosary leader.
He is preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will held Wednesday, November 20th, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Higginsville, at 11:30 am, with visitation following, until the Mass of Christian Burial, which will begin at 1:00 pm, officiated by Fr. Tom Hawkins.
